Seasiders Pre-season a Mixed Bag

With the third fixture in the pre-season schedule at Pill Harriers already having been postponed, it fell to Tenby United to provide the final opposition before the league opener at Fairwater.

The Seasiders were still in no position to field anything like a full-strength team, although it was good to see experienced players like James Docherty returning after a long injury lay-off.

However, the good news ended there as Div 4 W Tenby proved too strong, especially in the back division and a Penarth defence that hadn’t been seriously tested the week before gave way alarmingly to the extent of 47 points conceded without reply.

Plenty of work for the coaches to do and it’ll be interesting to see what a first-choice XV looks like on 2013-14.
